ABOUT THE SERIES
Geologic Editions is a body of cast glass works derived from molds of exposed rock faces, road cuts, and natural formations encountered during fieldwork in both Antarctica and the western United States. These textured surfaces are translated into vibrant glass panels and sculptures, capturing the intricate patterns formed over geologic time.
Originally developed as studies for The Colorado Cascade—a large-scale commissioned work installed in the Rocky Mountains—these pieces explore how cast glass can express the memory of stone and the forces that shape the land. By preserving the shape and detail of these formations, the work connects viewers to the deep history of the Earth—its upheavals, erosion, and layered memory.
The glass refracts light much like minerals or ice, allowing each piece to become a shifting marker of time, movement, and environmental change. Geologic Editions invites reflection on the natural forces that define our landscape and the accelerating changes brought on by human impact. It is a meditation on time—compressed, expanded, and made visible through glass.
